The Battlefield
I was inspired by my good friend, Matt Woods, I mention his name because I posted a touching piece he wrote to me the other day and didn't credit him. The inspiration came in the form of some positive thoughts he shared with me this morning. Everyday I start out filled with anxiety, fear, paranoia, anger, and frustration. At the same time I wake up full of joy, thankfulness, hope, and love. Its like all day long these different teams of emotion fight within me for control of how I feel from moment to moment. Its a battle that I feel the more positive aspects of my personality are winning, I'm proud to say. The other day I said to myself that I could do anything, and in that moment I felt the truth of that statement unlike any time before. Then minutes later the fears and anxieties came rushing back at me almost in retaliation for that glimmering light of self awareness. I managed to push aside those negative thoughts and keep moving forward and by the end of the day I knew I had moved my goals one day closer to achievement. That's when I realized that I had the keys to ultimate victory and was already using them. Every day I give myself the ammunition to face another tough battle. I listen to positive messages, I try to learn new ideas and stretch my mind. I reach out to new people and instead of trying to see what I can get, I look for ways that I can be of help. I don't win every battle, but I keep on fighting and I know that one day I'll win the war.
