Why?

As I was riding the train from my home in Virginia, on my way for a one day trip to Baltimore for a little fun with an old friend of mine I got a call. It was from another good friend named Cheryl who I had done business with in the past and looked to do more business with in the near future.

She said she had an idea that she thought was perfect for me. She thought that I had a unique voice as a black, stay-at-home dad trying to build a business and that I should share some of my experiences with the world at large. I admit to being a little taken with the idea, seeing as how I have been attempting to improve my writing skills in pursuit of completing a book I'm working on about real estate and investing. My first thought however was who would want to hear about me and my life. Sometimes I have to think really hard as to why my wife loves me as much as she claims to.

My second thought was about my kids and how much they drive me crazy, and the idea of sharing that craziness, perhaps reaching out to others living through similar situations excited me. I loved the idea, if only to one day create a support group for frustrated parents. As I think on it that group would probably comprise most of the people in the world.

Anyhoo, I'm starting this blog and thanking you Cheryl who came to me with the compliment that someone out there would find what I have to say interesting enough to read. I can't promise to update every day, but I will try my best to keep this journal current and be as honest as I dare.
