Lessons from the Panda

Having kids usually means watching cartoons or other childish fare. Today it seems like most of the stuff they pass off as entertainment for our kids is mindless drek. No character development, no believable story, and in the cases of shows like Hannah Montana, bad acting.

Don't get me wrong, I don't wish anyone out of a job, but can't they write stories that are fun for children but have a touch of depth for us parents forced to watch?

I was telling a partner today about a lesson I learned from watching one of the better cartoons to come out in recent years, Kung Fu Panda. If you haven't seen it check it, its fun.

The lesson I passed along is a good one though. Enjoy.

"Yesterday is history, tomorrows a mystery, and today is a gift. That's why it is called the present." -Master Oogway (A talking Kung Fu Turtle Master)

Now that is good writing!
